A little trivia… Smokey’s original name wasn’t “Smokey”. Because the cub was clinging to a burnt tree when firefighters found him, they originally gave him the name “Hot Paws”.
Please note that the stamps are not mounted to any surface. Because of the white borders of both the stamps and the insert, they have been scanned against a black background for a clearer view of both the stamps and the card. The original gum on the stamps has not been disturbed in any way. All blocks are shipped in protective glassine envelopes.
